The Australian Brumby Alliance has been made aware of some comments on multiple social media posts attacking ABA member groups. The ABA stands in solidarity with our member groups and asks for the aggressive social media commentary to stop, it is NOT an official forum, all comments are unproven and pure speculation. The ABA will not legitimise any unsubstantiated comments or personal attacks therefore we will not comment on specific baseless claims posted on an unofficial forum. Yesterday, I was pleased to join passionate advocates at the Barmah rally to save our iconic heritage brumbies. The impressive and well attended event highlighted the dedication from locals and Victorians across the state, who are committed to preserving these beautiful creatures. The Andrews government plans to shoot 100 Barmah brumbies, steamrolling the desperate community who have offered the government countless alternatives. This is just the beginning, Yorta Yorta and Parks Victoria want all wild horses removed from the forest. No doubt, all visitors as well! Feral desert donkeys are digging wells, giving water to parched wildlife

Research by Lundgren, Wallach and Ramp suggests that wild equids are filling the void of extinct megafauna and are contributing to biodiversity. In particular, they have been found to find water in desert areas which are used by many species.
