Australian Brumby Challange still Wild to Wonderful

Organised by the Victorian Brumby Association, the 2024 Australian Brumby Challenge was held at Equitana in Melbourne during 14-17 November. This year Reserve Champion went to horse trainer Zoe Mullens and her ‘wild’ companion, Spartan. Spartan is one of the wild brumbies saved by the Barmah Brumby Preservation Group, after the government decided to eradicate the herd last year. Zoe paid tribute to the light horse for her and Spartan’s freestyle. Spartan laid flat on the ground and Zoe, in a replica of a World War I light horseman’s uniform, lay across him.
