Parliamentary Inquiry into aerial shooting of brumbies in Kosciuszko National Park |
Dear Jill, Our office has been inundated with concerns about the NSW Government’s plan to commence aerial shooting of brumbies in Kosciuszko National Park. That’s why we’ve set up a Parliamentary Inquiry – there are only a few days left to make a submission. MAKE YOUR SUBMISSION TO THE BRUMBY INQUIRY HERE The good news is a submission does not have to be long and can talk about any aspect you would like – it could be one line noting your position. Will you share your voice for the brumbies? Earlier this year, the NSW Government announced its plan to start aerial shooting in Kosciuszko National Park. This came as a shock to many in the community who care deeply about the brumbies and their protection and anyone who opposes animal cruelty. We all remember what happened when brumbies were aerially shot from helicopters at Guy Fawkes National Park in 2000. As Chair of the Animal Welfare Committee, I’ve established an Inquiry into this proposed aerial shooting program and the associated animal cruelty concerns, as well as the accuracy of the brumby count and other matters concerning the treatment of brumbies in Kosciuszko National Park. But in order for the community to be heard on this issue, the inquiry needs submissions. MAKE YOUR SUBMISSION HERE Submissions close this Friday, 13 October 2023. Thank you for standing up for animals, The Hon. Emma Hurst MLC https://www.emmahurstmp.com/ |
